How is the pandemic affecting Safari bookings?

Posted by on October 21, 2020

A safari holiday is something many of us dream to be able to do. It really is a magnificent experience that will stay with you forever. Since the Covid outbreak, the safari industry has been hit hard. Many flights have been stopped to and from Africa (which is one of the most popular places for a safari), people have had holiday cancelled and are scared to book again until they know what is happening.

All of this has had a huge impact on the national parks and the safari companies that rely on the tourism industry to keep going.

All of these companies are starting to really struggle and without the income from visitors, they are worried that the funds will soon run out. Although the safaris are there to allow people to view these amazing animals in the wild, they also often pump a lot of the profits back into conservation and looking after the environment that these animals live in. Without this money, many people are concerned that their work will have to stop which could be hugely detrimental to the already declining numbers of many species. We can only hope that this time will pass quickly and that income will soon start to pour in again.
